Designed with today’s taller, double-digit cog stacks in mind, Chris King's R45 cassette lock rings feature longer threads to provide secure engagement with the hub driveshell. A Chris King cassette lock ring is the perfect complement to any Chris King hub, or for anyone looking to add a dash of King performance to other manufacturer’s compatible rear hubs. They are available for both 11 and 12 tooth small cogs, as well as Shimano or Campagnolo hubs.

A lightweight Campagnolo compatible hubset designed expressly for the demands of road racing. Light The R45 hubset is 20% lighter than King's Classic hubset at 328g. They designed sleek new hubshell bodies and new 17 mm axles. That's 17 mm from dropout to dropout resisting deflection during cornering or when the power is full on. Chris King designed a driveshell with a twin bearing design that responsibly removed as much weight as they could from the inner components. Even their patented RingDrive engagement system was redeveloped resulting in a quiet, fast-engaging 45-tooth stainless steel system unique to the R45 rear hub. The advantages and disadvantages of an Aero wheel set

The high art is to find the perfect mix and balance between handling, weight, aerodynamics and wind sensitivity. Every manufacturer finds his own way here and implements his own standards and ideas of the perfect wheel.
