The bicycle you buy, and especially where you buy it, has a huge impact on your safety, comfort, and how much fun you have riding!

We make bike buying easy and fun!Bicycles embody fun and technological sophistication beyond the dreams of other products.  Your 15 pound bicycle must be able to travel safely at high speeds under demanding conditions.  To perform at their best bicycles must be constructed of high-quality materials, assembled by competent and trained bicycle mechanics, and properly adjusted to fit correctly.

By purchasing your new bike from Lakeside Bicycles instead of from a mass merchant or other purveyor of garden and hygiene products, you gain important advantages, which we outline here:

COMPARISON: Lakeside Bicycles vs. Mass-Merchants

Advantages Bicycle Shops Mass-Merchants /
Department Stores
Bike Comfort and Fit People come in all sizes and need the expert fit that Lakeside Bicycles can provide. We ensure that your bike is the right size and adjusted properly just for you. Test rides and follow-up fitting fine-tunings are available, too. The result is easy, efficient and safe cycling and more fun! Mass-merchant bicycles come in two sizes:  too small and too big. These stores generally do not have experienced staff who understand how to measure you or how to adjust the bike to fit you.  And test rides?
Selection Lakeside Bicycles has a wide selection of bicycle models, sizes, styles and colors. Our expert staff coaches you through the process of finding the perfect bike for you. Selection is usually limited to the kind of brands and models that the courts have deemed too dangerous to test on prisoners.
Modern bicycles, come in boxes and need to be assembled carefully and properly to be safe, work right and hold up. Lakeside Bicycles bikes are assembled in-store by experienced mechanics, and each is test ridden to ensure proper function and safety. They are then carefully fit to you at the time of purchase. Test rides, tune-ups and instructions assure safe and great rides. Some mass-merchants sell unassembled bikes meaning you have to do it yourself.  Remember the first time you installed a stereo?  If they DO assemble your bike it is done by the neighbors kid who was unable to mow your lawn without frappĂ©ing your cat.

Plus, we stand behind our bikes and products with experienced mechanics and riding experts. Community  Lakeside Bicycles is the central source for more than just great bicycles accessories and apparel. We help you find the great rides, latest cycling info, and serve as advocates for better bike paths and facilities in our area, too! Mass merchants are a central source for mountains of cut-rate stuff.   They may or may not be aware that bicycles often have two wheels.  They are also likely to serve as advocates for siting a new Walmart in your neighborhood.

Lakeside Bicycles employs knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff, who are cyclists with detailed knowledge in the field. Their only job is satisfying your cycling needs, and they love doing it!

When the employees of mass merchants can afford to take time off of their class action suit against their employer, their only job is shoving you through the checkout line before going to break up the fight at the close-out bin.
