Kona's Blast is perfectly named, since it's designed specifically for all-day fun. The moment you stomp on the pedals, the snappy, yet tough Race Light Aluminum frame leaps forward, looking for the next rough section of trail for the RockShox fork to tame. The fast-rolling and frisky 27.5-inch Schwalbe Nobby Nic tires love carving up singletrack, and you give them the go-ahead with a 27-speed Shimano drivetrain that can handle anything. Always one step ahead, Kona added internal dropper post routing for all-mountain versatility and clean lines. A pair of no-nonsense hydraulic disc brakes keep you and the Blast this side of oblivion while you pilot with a grin from a race-ready, Kona-outfitted cockpit.

I have this bicycle less than a month. I've been riding on a road trails and couple times on dirt trails. So far No cons for this Blast as it makes tribute to its name.
this bike got a lot of very positve comments.from coworkers, and other commuters alike. It got me to and from work in all types of weather rain wind snow and sunshine. we even went to the hills and chased gravity. it was a whole lot more tha i expected for the cost. nothing negitve.
I love this bike!! Looked around at Giant, Trek, you name it. The Blast had the equipment package of Giants and Treks that cost about $300 more, and it's lighter and looks better. I chose it over the Cinder Cone because I liked the brakes better, plus the blue and white color scheme is gorgeous in person. An unfortunate side effect is that I'm constantly cleaning the bike to make it look clean, but then it'll probably last longer! I've ridden this bike several times through the Frederick watershed here in MD, many trails of which are miles and miles of nothing but rock gardens. This bike takes them like a champ! Other than regular chain lubes and maintenance I've had zero issues mechanically with the bike. The parts all work together in concert great. Switch the pedals out for some Kona Wah Wahs or Jack Sh!ts and the bike is nearly perfect. I'd also recommend a better wheelset, the Alex rims really let the bike get up and moving quick but I managed to break one in a crash. Kudos to Kona however for replacing it free. You'll need wider rims if you want to put larger rubber than the 2.1 Aspens that are included. I've relegated the stock rims to gravel trails, fast XC tracks and put some wider Shimano rims with beefier Maxxis Ardents for my all mountain type rides.
I absolutley love this bike after riding a rigid fork for the past 10 years I wonder why I waited so long to spend my money, I will be doing less road work and more trails for sure. I decided to by a guys bike as that is what Iam used to and the Blast felt like home!
I've had this bike for about a year it's a "blast". For the price you get a great shox decent cranks and awsome tires. these brakes work better than the ones on the Specilied hardrock. The only thing I did to mine was i put azonic bars on it.
